‘펼친다’는 것은 단순히 드러내는 행위가 아니라, 가능성을 향해 나아가는 선언입니다.The J Contemporary Art는 이번 UNFOLD를 통해 새로운 출발점을 엽니다. 갤러리로서 우리는 단순히 작품을 전시하는 공간을 넘어,작가의 여정을 함께 설계하고 동시대 미술의 흐름을 적극적으로 확장하는 플랫폼이 되고자 합니다.
이번 전시는 The J와 함께 첫발을 내딛는 작가들의 에너지와 가능성을 하나의 흐름으로 엮었습니다.
각자의 시선과 재료, 감정이 서로 다른 결을 가지면서도‘펼쳐짐’이라는 하나의 주제로 교차하며, 동시대 미술의 다층적 얼굴을 보여줍니다. 그것은 익숙한 경계를 넘어, 지금 이 시대의 미감과 태도를 새롭게 해석하려는 시도입니다.
The J Contemporary Art는 앞으로도 국내외 아트페어, 온라인 플랫폼, 그리고 국제 교류 전시를 통해작가들의 실질적 도약을 지원하며, 한국 동시대 미술의 다양성을 세계와 연결할 것입니다. UNFOLD는 그 여정의 첫 장이자, 우리가 함께 만들어갈 이야기의 시작입니다.
To unfold is not merely to reveal, but to declare a movement toward new possibilities. With UNFOLD, The J Contemporary Art marks its new beginning. More than a gallery space, we aspire to become a platform that shapes artists’ journeys and expands the landscape of contemporary art.
This exhibition weaves together the energy and potential of the artists who take their first step with The J. Though each explores distinct materials, emotions, and perspectives, they intersect through the shared theme of unfolding, offering a multilayered reflection of contemporary art. It is an exploration beyond familiar boundaries — a redefinition of today’s aesthetics and sensibilities.
Going forward, The J Contemporary Art will continue to connect Korean contemporary art with the global scene through art fairs, online platforms, and international collaborations. UNFOLD is the first chapter of that journey —the beginning of a story we will write together.
