저는 현실과 이상, 내면과 외면의 경계를 탐구하는 평면회화 작가입니다. 어린 시절부터 현실

너머의 이상 세계를 상상하는 데 몰입해 왔으며, 이는 제가 겪어온 삶의 어려움과 맞물려 예술적

표현으로 확장되었습니다. 제 작업에서 ‘문’과 ‘빛’은 반복적으로 등장하는 상징적 요소로, 현실을

벗어나 초월적 공간으로 나아가는 통로이자 마음의 풍경을 열어주는 은유적 장치로 작용합니다.

제 예술 여정은 고등학생 시절, 장기간 병원 치료를 받으며 시작되었습니다. 신체적 회복과

동시에 찾아온 심리적 고립은 오히려 내면을 깊이 들여다보는 계기가 되었고, 그 과정에서

예술은 저에게 삶의 의미를 되묻고 지탱하는 중요한 힘이 되었습니다. 절망의 순간에도 빛을

포착하려는 태도는 제 작업 전반에 흐르는 중심 정서이자 철학입니다.

작품의 출발점은 개인적인 체험이지만, 그 안에는 누구나 겪는 삶의 희로애락과 내면의 여정이

담겨 있습니다. ‘문’과 ‘빛’은 단순한 형상이 아니라, 현실과 이상을 이어주는 상징으로 기능하며,

관람자 각자가 자신의 감정과 기억을 투영할 수 있는 심리적 공간을 열어줍니다. 이를 통해

작업은 개인적 고백을 넘어 보편적 공감으로 확장됩니다.

저는 일상의 순간에서 영감을 얻습니다. 찰나의 환상 같은 장면들—특히 하늘과 구름—은 감정적

울림을 동반한 시각적 체험으로 다가오며, 이를 기록하고 재해석하여 화면에 담아냅니다. 단순한

풍경 재현을 넘어, 그 안에 스며든 감정과 심리적 깊이를 시각화하는 데 초점을 맞추고 있습니다.

예를 들어, 가족과 함께한 일상 속 어느 날, 신호등 앞에서 올려다본 하늘이 깊은 인상을 남긴

적이 있습니다. 하늘을 좋아하는 아들과 함께한 그 순간은 단순한 풍경을 넘어서 하나의

기억이자 감정이 되었고, 이는 작업의 중요한 모티프로 작용했습니다. 작업 과정에서 처음 구상한

이미지가 변화하더라도, 저는 감각과 분위기를 새롭게 직조하며 제 방식대로 작품을 완성해

나갑니다. 이 과정은 자연과의 교감이자, 삶의 아름다움을 되새기는 창조의 여정입니다.

저는 예술이 단순한 시각적 표현을 넘어, 감정적 치유와 내적 성찰의 통로가 될 수 있다고

믿습니다. 제 작업이 관람자에게 일상의 고단함을 잠시 벗어나 내면을 들여다보는 시간을

선사하고, 그 안에서 작지만 깊은 위로와 가능성을 발견하는 계기가 되기를 바랍니다

I am a painter who explores the boundaries between reality and ideal, the inner and outer worlds.

Since childhood, I have been drawn to imagining realms beyond the visible world—a tendency

that deepened through the challenges I faced in life. In my work, recurring symbolic elements

such as "doors" and "light" serve as metaphors and gateways to transcendent spaces, offering

viewers a passage beyond the constraints of everyday life.

My artistic journey began during my high school years, when I spent an extended period in the

hospital. While the experience brought physical and emotional isolation, it also gave me time

to look inward and foster a profound connection with art. Even in moments of despair, I learned

to seek out glimpses of light—an attitude that remains central to my practice.

Though rooted in personal experiences, my work seeks to reflect universal emotions—joy,

sorrow, hope, and introspection. The door and light are not merely formal motifs; they act as

symbolic mediators between the real and the ideal. These elements invite viewers into a

psychological space where they can project their own emotions and embark on an introspective

journey. In this way, my personal narrative evolves into a shared and relatable experience.

Much of my inspiration comes from fleeting moments in daily life. Ephemeral scenes—

especially of skies and clouds—often stir deep emotional responses, which I capture and

reinterpret through painting. My focus lies not in reproducing landscapes as they appear, but in

visualizing the emotional and psychological depth contained within those moments.

For instance, one day while waiting at a traffic light with my family, I looked up at the sky and

was struck by its quiet beauty. That memory, enhanced by the thought of my son who loves the

sky, became a powerful source of inspiration. Even if the final work differs from my initial

vision, I embrace the process of reinterpreting color, composition, and mood. It is in this

creative dialogue between nature and the self that I discover a sense of joy and meaning.

Ultimately, I believe art has the power to transcend the visual—to offer emotional resonance

and psychological comfort. I hope my paintings allow viewers to pause, reflect, and find a

sense of solace and possibility within their own inner worlds.
